Untitled Mortar, 2026, beeswax

The beeswax figure replaces the missing mortar on this brick wall in Manhattan. The wax is especially soft and skin-like against the rough angularity of the bricks. It implies a sense of fragility, but also potential for fragmented permanence; I like to think that the sun could heat it up and it will seep into the pores of the brick, just like the mortar would ideally do.
